Lesya Fedchenko, a legal expert, explains the procedure of calculating work experience in local self–government bodies.

After 01.05.2016 public service experience is calculated under the Procedure of Calculating the Public Service Experience, confirmed by resolution № 229 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 25.03.2016. According to clause 4 of the Procedure, the term of occupying positions in local self–government bodies, envisaged by the Law on local self–government service, is included in the public service experience. At the same time, the new Procedure doesn’t contain any provisions on including work in local self–government bodies in the public service experience.
