On April, 16, 2020 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading and as a whole bill on Amending the Law of Ukraine On the Local Self-Government in Ukraine №2653 as of 20.12.2019.

The bill enables the Government to make necessary decisions for approving on the administrative and territorial arrangement on the level of hromadas: it introduces the notion of the administrative centre of a hromada and the hromada territory; suggests passing the law on the administrative and territorial arrangement of Ukraine to authorise the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to define administrative centres and hromada territories.
