Part of amalgamated hromadas in Ukraine held their first elections in late 2017. This is the result of the next stage of the decentralisation process in certain territories that sprouted up in 2014. The newly established administrative-territorial amalgamations have chosen their own self-government, to join it in creation of suitable conditions for people living in these territories.
The town of Novoukrayinka and several neighbouring villages became an amalgamated hromada almost two years ago. Understanding that the territory is united not only by the name but also by a new common vision of future prospects, became a distinctive feature of the newly formed administrative-territorial amalgamation.
