Aggravated by the conflict in the east of Ukraine, environmental challenges of the Luhansk oblast affect all spheres of the public life: social, economic, humanitarian and political ones. The environmental safety issue needs an immediate response of all those concerned and the general public.
The case study was carried out in July-November of 2019 within the UNDP, funded by the governments of Denmark, Switzerland and Sweden. The authors wanted to define the current environmental situation in the Luhansk oblast. The Krasnorichenska AH of the Luhansk oblast is a separate case study object.
