Decentralisation: what is envisaged by the 2020 State Budget

On April, 13 at the extraordinary plenary session the Parliament passed the Law on amending the 2020 State Budget (bill №3279-d as of 11.04.2020), developed due to the necessity of creating fiscal space to establish the Fund aimed at counteracting COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and its repercussions.

The urgent need to establish the fund of 64,7 billion UAH led to the reduction of some budget programmes, including those related to the local self-government bodies.

According to the Association of Ukrainian Cities, the amount of 51,03 billion UAH has been preserved in the State Budget.
