№ 2653: experts call for an important bill on the local self-government reform to be included in the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada extraordinary session

Experts in the local self-government reform issues call the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to include to the agenda of the extraordinary session planned for April, 13, the bill On Amending the Law of Ukraine On the Local Self-Government in Ukraine № 2653.

The bill makes it possible for the Government to make the necessary decisions aimed at confirming the administrative and territorial arrangement on the hromada and rayon level: introduces the notion of the territorial hromada administrative centre and the hromada territory; suggests, prior to passing the bill on the administrative and territorial arrangement of Ukraine, authorising the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to define administrative centres and hromada territories, as well as submitting bills on rayon formation and liquidation to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
