The issue of future rayon configuration is not as sensitive for people as capable hromadas formation. Future rayons will be formed exclusively for the purpose of organizing and coordinating state executive bodies’ activity locally. So, the issue of rayons configuration is out of the local self-government’s competence. However, as the future territorial division of regions will influence the local authorities’ organization efficiency, the local self-government opinion is also important. That is why all line associations are invited to participate in the discussion.
That was covered by Vyacheslav Nehoda, Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, during a video conference on forming the administrative and territorial arrangement of the sub-regional level of the Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Odesa, Ternopil and Cherkasy regions, conducted by the MinRegion on March, 31 jointly with parliamentary Committee on the Organization of the State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
Following the discussions, the oblast state administrations must prepare the final propositions for the bill on the administrative and territorial arrangement of the sub-regional level to be based on.
