“For me, the main goal of local self-government reform is that people must have a safe environment and a comfortable living space in their hromadas. And this is equality of rights and equality of opportunity, as well as equality of all demographic and social groups. And this certainly concerns the issue of accessibility of services for everyone,” said Alyona Babak, Minister of Communities and Territories’ Development of Ukraine at the Third Ukrainian Women’s Congress.
“In September, the Ministry of Communities and Territories’ Development approved the Gender Equality Strategy for 2019-2021, in which we laid down the institutional aspects of gender equality at the level of the ministry to be implemented, as well as the aspects of gender equality in decentralisation,” she said.
