The year of 2019 is critically important for the state regional policy in Ukraine. By the end of the year, it is necessary to prepare a new State Strategy for Regional Development and Regional Strategies for 2021-2027 years. It also needs to complete the formation of new legislation on promoting and financing the regional development.

This was stated by Viacheslav Nehoda, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine during the All-Ukrainian Meeting on current issues of forming and implementing the state regional policy, which takes place on 16-17 May in Odesa.

He has reminded that the State Strategy for Regional Development, as well as Regional Strategies, will be completed by 2020, and, therefore, the work on the development of a new programme document by 2027 is still going on under the coordination of MinRegion.
