At today’s conference, representatives of AHs, business and international funds unanimously supported the idea of 100% coverage of Ukraine’s territory by amalgamated hromadas until 2020. The idea of the transition to administrative decision on amalgamation from 2019 was also supported. And it can be implemented only with the adoption of the draft law “On the Principles of Administrative-Territorial Structure of Ukraine” by the Parliament, emphasised Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, at the second annual conference of DOBRE partners “Strategic development and investments”.
“Without this law, we cannot move further. Without this law, the country remains in the administrative system, that does not allow to develop the infrastructure necessary for the quality of life of every Ukrainian. And so I appeal to every hromada leader asking you to work with your MPs and convince them of the need to support the ultra-important law. It assures the future of Ukraine and hromada development. There are already 838 AHs established, and we set ourselves the task together with you to complete amalgamation process by 2020,” said Hennadii Zubko.
He stressed that this year there is a specific task to complete perspective plans’ creation. “We expect these plans to envisage 1400-1450 AHs. At the moment, there are 1206 of them,” noted Hennadii Zubko.
