Ukraine has started a transition from the inspection of schools to a quality assurance system in school education. The State Education Quality Service established in 2017 and its local offices will be conducting external quality assessment in educational institutions – institutional audit.
While standards and recommendations on quality assurance in education as well as the institutional audit procedure are being prepared, we are studying the experience of different countries in regard to the criteria and components of the perfect school. In this contribution we would like to talk about educational environment and approaches for forming it which are applied in Lithuania, Czech Republic, Norway and Great Britain.
