The electronic distance learning course “Starosta: local leader, administrator, representative of hromada’s interests”, available to starostas on the web-platform of the Community of Local Development Practices http://udl.despro.org.ua, started on 5 June.
Already 236 participants have joined the training.
The course was created on the initiative of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of Public Administration under the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, and the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre, with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian project "Decentralisation Support in Ukraine" (DESPRO).
The purpose of the e-course is to assist in the formation of an efficient institute of starosta in Ukraine through training of local development leaders, able to professionally and effectively carry out starosta’s duties, using practical skills and abilities, traditional and innovative management tools necessary for consolidation of achievements of the local self-government reform at the local level within the conditions of decentralisation of power and other systemic reforms.
Expected course result should be the ability of the participants:
Admission to the e-course “Starosta: local leader, administrator, representative of hromada’s interests” is open and will last until 10 June, 23.00.
Course duration: 5 weeks
To become a member of the e-course, register with the Community of Local Development Practices via http://udl.despro.org.ua. After registering with the Community of Practices, complete admission to the e-course “Starosta”, which will be open until 10 June.
