Life changes every day. Today refurbished bright facades, classrooms, gyms, canteens and game rooms have changed once old and shabby schools and kindergartens yesterday. Roads are being built and lanterns installed, where there used to be no roads and lights. Clean parks and new benches appear, where tons of garbage and shrubs were once dumped, and there is a clean lake on the place of a swamp or a small spring. Gradually, step by step, populated areas of the Chernihiv Oblast change their outlook, gray administrative institutions and buildings fade away. People change as well as their lives and thinking...

In order to memorise these moments of changes, the Chernihiv Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme, together with the Chernihiv Department of the National Union of Photographers of Ukraine announce the implementation of a photo project “Hromadas of the Chernihiv Oblast in Focus”.

Our team appeals to hromadas’ residents, government officials, businessmen and civil activists: let's write the history of hromadas of the Chernihiv Oblast in photos together. We are waiting for your photos on e-mail oksana.stelmakh@lgdc.org.ua (with a copy to ok.stelmakh@gmail.com) with the subject “PHOTOexhibition” till 10 June 2018.

The presentation of the photo exhibition “Hromadas of the Chernihiv Oblast in Focus” will take place in July 2018. A master class from the best photographers of the Chernihiv Department of the National Union of Photographers of Ukraine will be held for the most active photographers.
