Bonuses for starostas and financial support: legal, organisational and other aspects (part one)

The law stipulates financial incentives for the officials of local self-government, including starostas, which can be provided as bonuses, financial support etc. This is subject to a number of regulations which partially contradict each other and thus are sometimes difficult to understand and apply.

What is the bonus and financial support, what regulations stipulate these incentives? Who is entitled to determine the amount of these incentives and based on what acts they shall be paid? We will try to answer these and other questions.
