Ihor Gundych, head of the Zhytomyr Oblast State Administration, Mayor Serhiy Sukhomlyn and Maksym Vilivchuk, deputy head of the Zhytomyr Oblast Council, signed a memorandum on cooperation in the cultural and tourist sphere in order to preserve and develop the cultural heritage of the Zhytomyr Oblast. The signing was held at the Zhytomyr Local Government Development Centre, established with the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion.
"Due to decentralisation both the oblast and hromadas have a financial resource, but it is necessary to clearly understand how to spend it. A working group formed with the experts from local areas and the capital should eventually determine the programme for the development and preservation of cultural and tourist facilities," said Ihor Gundych, head of the Zhytomyr Oblast State Administration.
