MinRegion welcomed the launch of the new social, informational and entertainment reality programme “Million-Hryvnia Hromada” on the 1+1 TV channel. Vyacheslav Nehoda, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services, shared his impressions in Facebook network.

“Hromadas impress! The first programme of the TV project “Million-Hryvnia Hromada” came out on air. Five amalgamated hromadas from the Ternopil, Mykolayiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Luhansk and Volyn Oblasts compete for one million investment funds. I watched it with great pleasure. Genuine human emotions, cohesiveness, ambition and, most importantly, homadas’ belief in themselves are just a small part of what the camera transmits. But this is what persuades all skeptics that local self-government reform works, and decentralisation works. Such hromadas are now cementing the solid foundation of our statehood. Regardless of whom the investor will award in a TV project, each of the hromadas is already a winner. Courageous, purposeful and persistent people will always be ahead,” wrote Vyacheslav Nehoda.

He expressed his gratitude to the United States Agency for International Development “Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Efficiency” (DOBRE) Programme and the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre for the initiative and implementation of the TV project, and the 1+1 TV channel and its creative team – for their professional work.

The first issue of the “Million-Hryvnia Hromada" TV project was released on 28 January, and the viewers will be able to observe the development of the events every Sunday at 9:50 for seven weeks in a row.
