Over 1200 municipalities of Ukraine have got involved in the strategic planning, 617 of them have approved development strategies. Part of the municipalities, having their own development strategies or currently working over them, increased by 26% in 2021. It was highlighted by Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Ivan Lukerya.

«The main objective of the strategic planning tools locally is to define the main trends of the municipality development. It is important for local self-government bodies to know their municipality strengths and weaknesses, to analyze opportunities and potential threats. This way it would be easier to plan various projects and strengthen the economy. All these issues and processes have to be recorded in the development strategy. If municipalities are strong, we will build a powerful Ukraine», – claimed Ivan Lukerya.
