Amendments to the Constitution in terms of decentralization are aimed at the balance of the local authorities’ rights and liability, – Oleksandr Korniyenko

On January, 26 the first meeting of the inter-committee Working group, preparing complex legislative propositions on amending the Constitution of Ukraine in terms of decentralization, took place.

The First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko, presiding the meeting, outlined the processes, having been occurring for 2 years of the local self-government:

«It has resulted in a draft of the Constitutional amendments in terms of decentralisation. Within the Working group we are getting to the next stage – finalizing the draft to form complex legislative propositions», - said the head of the Working group.
