The Gender-oriented Governance guidelines is dedicated to investigating governance and management processes from the perspective of ensuring gender equality, social justice and full participation of both women and men in decision making. Moreover, the guidelines study ways and tools of the gender perspective integration in policy formation, planning, administration, budget allocation and service delivery.
Within the DOBRE USAID Programme the National Democratic Institute has introduced the gender-oriented governance approach in 100 municipalities-participants of the Dobre Programme. In cooperation with experts, the gender approach has been consistently integrated into strategic tools, target and budget programmes, decision making procedures, including the budget ones, as well as local democracy mechanisms.
The guidelines materials may be useful for local self-government representatives, branch experts, researchers, public organization specialists and active municipality residents.
