Municipalities have concluded about 800 intermunicipal cooperation agreements

In the last quarter of 2021 58 more municipalities concluded agreements on intermunicipal cooperation. Overall, Ukrainian municipalities have concluded about 800 agreements so far. In particular, the agreements cover educational, health care and sport projects.

«Since municipalities gained powers following 2020 elections, 296 consolidated municipalities have concluded 153 agreements on cooperation. Only in the fourth quarter of 2021 their number increased by 35 agreements in comparison with the last quarter. Intermunicipal cooperation assists municipalities in uniting and efficiently solving common problems. Particularly, it is easier for local self-government bodies to maintain communal facilities, used by other municipalities as well, by combining efforts and funds», — claimed Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Vyacheslav Nehoda.
