The Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov has met the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of France to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins and the French Republic Prefect Éric Freysselinard.

According to the MinRegion press-service, the parties discussed cooperation of experience exchange in introducing the institute of prefects.

«The MinRegion is continuing to legislatively ensure the reform of local self-government and territorial power organization within the incumbent Constitution of Ukraine. We consider the issue of reformatting local state administrations from general competence bodies into control and supervision bodies within the prefect type executive authorities. Soon we shall start working over the bill On the Prefect. I am sure that our French partners’ experience of decades will allow Ukrainians to avoid many mistakes while introducing the institute in Ukraine», — emphasized Oleksiy Chernyshov.
