Responding to the address by the general meeting of the Association of local self-government bodies the Kharkiv region, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the state power, local self-government, regional and urban development has clarified the topical issues of enumerating the order of convocations of the local councils, elected at the first local elections.

Defining the sequence numbering of the local council convocations in Ukraine has been regulated since passing the Law of Ukraine of June, 24, 2004 № 1866-ІV On Enumerating the Order of Convocations of the Local Self-Government Representative Bodies (Councils) (hereinafter – the Law). The Law enacted some key provisions, identifying the order of such convocations enumeration, covered in the material.
