The first meeting of the Regional Social Development Council under the President has taken place under the chairmanship of the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska.

The Council is a purpose-founded coordination forum, enabling to sync up the activity and harmonize aims and trends while forming and fulfilling social policy between the central executive power bodies and local self-government.

The meeting involved Council members: deputy heads of the ministries which are key ones for the social sphere, the head of the social policy committee of the Verkhovna Rada, heads of the subdivisions of the Office of the President. Via video link, line deputy heads of oblast state administrations and of the Kyiv City State Administrations participated in the meeting. The discussion topic was a reform of social welfare and children safeguarding in the country.
