Starostas will be elected at the indirect elections and will have wide-ranging powers, - an expert
During the round table «2020 Local Elections: A New System, a New Territorial Basis», organized by the Ukraine Crisis Media Centre within the USAID DOBRE Programme, Olena Boyko, a people’s deputy of Ukraine of the VІII convocation, claimed: «Indirect Elections imply the starosta being elected not by us but by our representatives in the hromada council. It is a normal democratic stance, complying with the Constitution and the legislation of Ukraine».
