On July, 15 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed resolution 3809 on appointing the regular local elections for October, 25, 2020.

326 people’s deputies voted for it.

According to the resolution draft, the regular elections of deputies of the local councils as well as village, settlement and town heads shall be appointed for October, 25, 2020. The regular elections shall not be held on the temporary occupied territories of the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The local elections shall not be conducted to the oblast councils of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions either due to the inability of these councils to represent common interests of all the oblast hromadas.
