Teachers are the basic assets of any education system. At the same time, a teacher’s salary is the main item of expense in education. That is why regulating teachers’ salary is the most important element of designing the national education system, having considerable repercussions for education quality, teaching staff availability as well as for education expenditures management.
In most countries a teacher’s salary is determined via a complicated system with regular changes and corrections, making it even more complicated.
The Polish system of teachers’ salaries is not an exception. The document from SKL International is a brief description of the essential aspects of the Polish system of fixing teachers’ salaries.
