Local elections. How hromada interests will be represented in rayon and oblast councils – questions posed to the Parliament

Administrative and territorial and election reforms are going on simultaneously and will be completed shortly before the election process beginning. From the technical point of view, at least the most important of 4000 amendments shall be made to the Election Code, making it possible to organise the election process in the newly established hromadas and rayons under the new election system.

But we should remember that the elections will define how voters’ interests will be represented in the local councils for the next five years. That is why it is necessary to take care of AH interest proportionate representation in rayon and oblast councils. Election legislation experts’ suggestions concerning the situation improvement can be found in the text of the material.
