The issue of hromadas’ accession to the city of oblast significance were discussed in Kaniv by representatives of local self-government bodies, government, expert environment, agrarian business and the public, as reported by Anna Yelisieyeva, national projects specialist of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.

During the discussion, the parties considered the prospects of cooperation between the the local self-government bodies, general development plan of the city of Kaniv and the impact on neighbouring hromadas and vice versa.

Participants of the round table meeting came to an understanding of the need for cooperation and the need to address territory development issues together.

The round table meeting was organised by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine within the framework of the project “Facilitating Dialogue on Reforms in Ukraine”, supported by the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, Reform Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Association of Ukrainian Cities, with participation of experts of the Cherkasy Local Government Development Centre, supported by U-LEAD.
