Senior pupils of six schools of the Semenivska AH took over the experience of school self-government in Zhytomyr schools. Within the framework of the seminar “School Self-Government: Theory and Practice”, initiated by the Zhytomyr Local Government Development Centre, established by the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion, 30 pupils got acquainted with the pupils’ self-government of the Zhytomyr City Collegium, activity of the “Executive Committee of Future” of Zhytomyr, and talked to the student fraternity team of the Zhytomyr State Ivan Franko University.
“School self-government activates children and allows them to gain the experience necessary for public and political activity. In addition, the preparation and implementation of projects, ideas and events within the framework of pupils’ self-organisation creates a base of children's abilities and skills that will allow them to become competitive students and young professionals,” said Dmytro Klymenko, communications adviser of the Zhytomyr LGDC.
Euroclub, “Krayany” Scientific Society, extensive system of pupils’ self-government committees, parental meetings in the format of a stand-up show and many other interesting and creative events are being carried out by the pupils of the Zhytomyr City Collegium. Teachers and pupils of the institution have established systematic work that allows schoolchildren to be proactive and creates opportunities for the implementation of ideas.
