The Dovbyska AH began to work on establishing a youth activation programme with a view to involve young people in hromada development. The youth should be actively involved in creation of youth spaces, training of young people, development of existing projects and organisation of modern and creative leisure activities.

“We have more than six thousand people in AH, of which about one and a half thousand are schoolchildren. We strive to involve as many children as possible in our projects and actions so that young people are organised and develop themselves. To do this, it is necessary to create youth environment and teach children,” believes Viktor Lisovskyi, head of the Department of Education of the Dovbyska AH.

In order to find ideas for the the youth environment development and work on a youth activation programme in hromada, a training on “Youth Policy Development Projects and Programmes” was initiated by the Zhytomyr Local Government Development Centre, established with the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion. The training involved identifying ideas for transforming existing youth spaces and developing an algorithm for activating children and youth.

In course of four hours of work, the participants of the training developed the idea of ​​park arrangement on the place of the old school, arrangement of the beach on the local lake, creation of a youth council, youth website and youth café, introduction of a participatory budget, talented youth support programme, non-formal educational establishment for young people, hiking trips, etc.
