The youth centre is planned to be opened in the premises of the former library in Semenivska rural AH of the Zhytomyr Oblast.
“There is lack of free space for young people to gain new knowledge, find support or show their potential, especially in rural areas. Therefore, we focus on the development of the youth movement and creation of the youth centre,” stressed Nataliya Semenyuk, head of the Semenivska AH.
After the library system reform in the hromada, some premises were vacated which, in particular, in the village of Ivankivtsi, will be used to create new youth institutions. The library building needs to be repaired, but soon it can be used as intended, while looking for funds for modernisation.
To find youth development ideas in the hromada, a training on “Projects and Programmes for the Youth Policy Development” was initiated by the Zhytomyr Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion.
