The debates on “Why should hromadas amalgamate?” will take place in the urban-type settlement of Kelmentsi in the Chernivtsi Oblast on 14 June.
The purpose of the event is to convey information on the essence of the reforms of local self-government and territorial organisation of power, decentralisation of powers, explain the benefits of the reform on the example of the existing AHs, provide answers to questions of interest to the public and local self-government bodies.
The event will be organised by the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralisation Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO) with the support of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, Chernivtsi Oblast State Administration, Kelmentsi Rayon State Administration and Chernivtsi Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion.
The participants of the debate will comprise the heads and the deputies of local councils, representatives of pedagogical and medical teams of the Kelmentsi Rayon, the public, as well as heads of AHs and starostas from other regions of Ukraine, and experts.

Time: 10 am – registration; 11 am – start of debates (entrance only by registration lists)
