Not by decentralisation alone: state support for farmers will contribute to village development

In the process of decentralisation of the resources and powers, villages received opportunities for development they have never had before. Rural hromadas amalgamate and cooperate in order to be stronger and to be able to solve most local issues on their own, to provide residents with high-quality and accessible services.

But governmental initiatives aimed at supporting and developing villages are not limited to decentralisation. In 2018, a new state programme of support for farmers was launched:

  • Agrarians can now return 25% of the cost of the equipment they buy
  • Government compensates 70% of the equipment cost to farmer cooperatives
  • UAH 2500 of state support are provided for the maintenance of one calf

More information on state support for farmers can be found on the website of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy.
