On Sunday, 4 February, at 9.50, the viewers of the 1+1 TV channel will watch the second issue of the social, business and entertainment project “Million-Hryvnia Hromada”, where they will learn about the process of decentralisation in Ukraine in the first-ever reality format.
The project was developed jointly with the United States Agency for International Development “Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Efficiency” (DOBRE) Programme.
The reality project features 5 out of 665 amalgamated hromadas (AHs) competing for UAH 1 million provided by the WHISEF fund, they will be able to use for their development. In each issue, hromadas-participants receive assignments from the programme presenters and investors Iryna Ozymok and Dmytro Ohnyov. By fulfilling these assignments AHs receive virtual funds and approach the main prize.
On Sunday, hromadas will receive a new task to implement a social initiative and make the dream of one Ukrainian family come true during 48 hours.
Thus, the Buzka hromada will unite and help a single father raising three children. The Skala-Podilska AH decided to help low-income families and provide them with firewood and clothes. The Pechenizhynska hromada will try to arrange the future of orphans, cared for by their elder brother. The Knyahynynivska hromada will make the dream of the local poetess, willing to publish a collection of her poems, come true, and the Novopskovska AH will try to open its own information and educational centre in 48 hours.
The “Million-Hryvnia Hromada” project will feature the opportunities introduced by the decentralisation process to the residents of each region, and the way ordinary Ukrainians can make big changes with small amount of money.
Find out whether the hromadas-participants will be able to unite for the sake of a good cause and accomplishment of the dreams of their fellow villagers, watching the “Million-Hryvnia Hromada” project on 9 February at 9.50 on 1+1 TV channel.
