A new social business and entertaining TV Project of the 1+1 channel “Million-Hryvnia Hromada”, created jointly with the United States Agency for International Development “Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Efficiency” (DOBRE) Programme at the initiative and on request of the DOBRE’s partner – the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre, will be launched on 28 January at 9:50.

The project presentation took place on 25 January with participation of Ms Susan Fritz, Director of the USAID Regional Mission to Ukraine, Alla Stashchenko, head of the genre direction of the image 1+1 Production projects and creative producer of the Project, and programme presenters: Iryna Ozymok , programme head of the WNISEF Local Economic Development Fund, and Dmytro Ohnyov, head of Merinos-West farm, largest farm enterprise in Eastern Europe.

Within the frames of the Project, five most innovative amalgamated hromadas in Ukraine will compete for investments and create projects to bring real changes to their towns and villages.

The main prize of the Project is UAH 1 million from the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF).

“Million-Hryvnia Hromada” is a project on the decentralisation reform in Ukraine, on how individual people can influence changes in the country. Decentralisation enables people to manage their hromadas. It helps to develop self-governance on the ground. And it will be featured in this show,” said Susan Fritz, Director of the USAID Regional Mission to Ukraine, during the presentation of the TV Project at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre.
