The conference “Efficient Library of Hromada: Searching for the Future” will begin at 10 AM on 11 December 2017 in Ternopil. The event will feature the best Ukrainian and foreign practices on the transformation of libraries into modern centres of hromada development, and the issues of library reform for the leaders of the amalgamated hromadas of the Ternopil Oblast, deputy managers of the cultural sector, and directors of central libraries. The event will be held with the assistance of the Ternopil Oblast State Administration, and the Charitable Foundation “The Library Country” with the support of the British Embassy in the framework of the project “Support to the Decentralisation Reform in Ukraine” at the Ternopil Oblast Youth Library (29, Nechaya Str.).

The success of the library sector reform in the Ternopil Oblast will be presented by Yuriy Yuryk, deputy chairman of the Ternopil Oblast State Administration. Besides, the following speeches are planned in the agenda of the event:

• “Results of the implementation of the project “Transformation of libraries into modern centres of hromada development” - Vladyslav Kyrychenko, co-founder of the Charitable Foundation “The Library Country”, founder of “Our format” publishing house
• “Decommunisation and replenishment of library funds in the modern conditions” - Oleksandr Krasovytskyi, co-founder of the Charitable Foundation “The Library Country”, general director of the “Folio” publishing house
•  “Foreign experience in the functioning of library networks on the example of Great Britain and Poland” - Mykola Krat, NGO “European Dialogue”
• “Factors influencing the organisation of libraries’ work in a decentralised environment” - Nadiya Synytsya, member of the management board of the NGO “Ukrainian Library Association”
• “Library of the future in the Ukrainian realities: how to make dreams come true” - Khrystyna Vorobiy, The Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytskyi Centre
• “New library services for hromada development” - Lesya Huk, director of the Ternopil Oblast Youth Library
• “Organisation of culture and leisure centres as an example of reform in the Terebovlyanska hromada of the Ternopil Oblast” – Lyudmyla Kolisnyk, deputy mayor.

The libraries of the Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Vinnytsya Oblasts will represent their experience of public libraries’ work in hromadas.
