Amalgamated hromadas learnt energy efficiency tools at the Cherkasy Local Self-Government Centre.
On 28 November 20 representatives of the amalgamated hromadas took part in the training “Setting up energy efficiency in AHs” held in the Cherkasy Local Self-Government Centre (established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe programme and MinRegion). There they acquired comprehensive information on the introduction of energy audits, possibilities of switching to alternative energy sources and use of materials to save on energy supply of hromada facilities. This and other information was shared by Anton Nyemyets, energy efficiency expert of the Cherkasy regional development agency and GIZ trainer in energy efficiency, as well as Denys Adamenko, leading project engineer of the Association “Application Centre Energointech” (Dnipro city).
“We are showing hromadas the possibilities of practical application of energy efficiency measures that are really operational and help saving on energy sources and funds,” noted Serhiy Slynko, director of the Cherkasy LGDC. “We have organised this training today as hromadas are planning their budgets for the next year, and we would like them to acquire comprehensive energy efficiency information and contribute to their future and their future budgets.”
“We plan to use the obtained knowledge by implementing a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency, in which, first of all, we plan to carry out an energy audit of the Stebliv general academic school, planned to be the hub school by 2020,” says Serhiy Sasin, head of the socio-economic development department of the Steblivska AH. “The cost of heating the school with natural gas amounts to over half a million a year. We plan to insulate the facade of the school and its roof covering, replace more than 100 windows, and install solid fuel boilers. Prior to that, we plan to contact an appropriate specialist and conduct energy audits. In addition, next year we plan to implement energy management in budget institutions, with each of them having its own responsible person, who will conduct daily accounting and analysis of energy costs for their minimisation and prevention.”
