Ministry of Regional Development, Association of Ukrainian Cities and Council of Europe join forces for implementation of local government reform and decentralization of power

The Ministry of Regional Development, jointly with the Council of Europe and the Association of Ukrainian Cities, keeps on supporting the operation of regional offices of reforms. This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Viacheslav Nehoda during the signing of the Memorandum on cooperation in the process of the integration of local communities and creation of an enabling environment for local government reform and ensuring broad support for the decentralization of power in Ukraine, particularly through the promotion of reform offices.

"We combine efforts for the implementation of local government reform and decentralization of power, forming of capable local communities in Ukraine and look forward to the revitalization of the regional offices of reforms," noted the First Deputy Minister.

According to him, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Association of Ukrainian Cities and the Council of Europe will engage local communities in the process of association in accordance with long-term plans of the formation of territorial hromadas, provide methodological assistance and advice on the organization of work of local councils united local communities and their executive committees, as well as promote the formation of competent communities and decentralization of power.
