The Polaris Programme invites communications specialists from partner hromadas to take part in a training program

 

The Swedish-Ukrainian Polaris Programme ‘Support for Multi-level Governance in Ukraine’ is announcing a call for applications for a specialised training program for specialists from partner hromadas who are responsible for communications and keeping residents informed.

One of the Polaris Programme’s key areas of focus is supporting local self-government in ensuring good governance, public information, communication and the involvement of community residents in addressing issues of local importance.

Who is this training for: local self-government officials and specialists involved in public relations, media relations and internal communication within the hromada. Up to 3 people from each hromada may take part.

The training will comprise 6 webinars running from October to December 2026.

What you will learn:

  • how to formulate effective calls to action;
  • how to use visual communications;
  • how to select content formats for social media;
  • how to organise the hromada’s day-to-day communication with residents;
  • how to select efficient communication strategies for crisis situations;
  • how to prepare speakers for public appearances.

Representatives from which hromadas can apply to take part in the training:

  • Polaris programme partner hromadas in any area of cooperation;
  • hromadas with a population of up to 100,000 people;
  • hromadas which have officials working in the field of information and communication and who have clearly defined job responsibilities in this area;
  • hromadas whose representatives are motivated to learn and committed to the practical implementation of effective information and communication tools.

Hromadas professionals wishing to join the training programme should complete an individual application form via this link.

Applications will be accepted utill 15 October 2026.

Selection for the training program will take place in two stages:

● based on the information provided in the completed application forms;

● based on the results of an online interview.

The training program will begin in the second half of October 2026.
