The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine has approved two draft agreements on international territorial cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign partners. The relevant Order No. 516 was signed by Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
The decision was adopted in line with the Law of Ukraine ‘On International Territorial Cooperation of Ukraine’ and the Procedure for the Approval of Draft Agreements on International Territorial Cooperation.
The following draft documents, in particular, have been approved:
- the draft Agreement on international territorial cooperation between the Novodnistrovsk City Council of Dnistrovskyi district, Chernivtsi region (Ukraine) and the municipality of Dorohoi, Botoșani County (Romania);
- the draft Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration (Ukraine) and the Umbria Region (Italian Republic).
The approval of the mentioned documents is a necessary step prior to their signing and the subsequent implementation of joint initiatives.
International territorial cooperation opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian communities and regions to exchange experience, implement joint projects, and attract partnership support for the development and recovery of territories.
