During a telephone call the Secretary General of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions Fabrizio Rossi has given a voice of confidence to the Executive directorate of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, town, settlement and village councils, as well as the people of Ukraine amid the horrible war.

The Council of European Municipalities and Regions has spread all the letters by the Association of Ukrainian Cities and members of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions are providing aid in various ways: money, humanitarian assistance and help to refugees.

On February, 24, 2022, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions condemned the Russian Federation aggression in Ukraine and horrific shelling, as well as expressed solidarity with local and regional self-government bodies, heroically fighting the war challenges. The document has been signed by 541 municipality representatives from 23 European countries.
