Civil status registration services have been returned to all hromadas: the Parliament has passed bill №4382

On April, 29 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted as a whole the bill On Amending some Laws of Ukraine on Ensuring Citizens’ Right to Access to the Civil Status State Registration due to Hromadas Consolidation (№4382).

«It was necessary to pass the bill immediately as having been united into hromadas with cities of oblast significance, smaller towns, villages and settlements have lost their authorities to register civil status. Thus, for instance, if a village dweller used to be able to just walk to his village council to register his relative’s death or marriage or a child’s birth, now they have to cover 30-40 km to the administrative centre of the newly-established hromada to do it at the appropriate division of the Ministry of Justice», - explained the bill author, people’s deputy Larysa Bilozir.
