Decentralisation, among other things, is also about putting order in hromadas, forming a culture of garbage handling. Fly dumpings were created by a person, thus a person is to eradicate them. And yet – to work on creating conditions under which garbage will be collected, sorted and sent for recycling. Everything is simple. The bonus will come back with new jobs and conversion of waste into money.
How and where is garbage removed in hromadas? How much does it cost to build a waste sorting line? How to organise residents for a joint voluntary work? Hromadas of the Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad and Sumy Oblasts share such experience in the “Jointly” programme.
