Election processes should not hinder decentralisation, - Serhii Chernov

The ongoing electoral processes in Ukraine should not have a negative impact on the implementation of decentralisation, either in terms of legislative provision or in terms of making managerial decisions.

This was stated by Serhii Chernov, Head of the Kharkiv Oblast Council, President of the Ukrainian Association of Rayon and Oblat Councils, during the broadcast on the Chornomorska Television and Radio Company.

"We can not live from elections to elections. We can not eliminate one year from the life of decentralisation because of these processes," emphasised Serhii Chernov.

President of the Ukrainian Association of Rayon and Oblat Councils added that in the event of the reform termination, all its positive results can be cancelled out, since many initial achievements are to be enshrined in the law, which has not yet been done.
