You can not only climb the mountains, but also raft there, believes the Biloberizka hromada in the highlands of the Verkhovyna Rayon in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Not only do they tell Hutsul fables about the ancient sea, the waves of which surrounded the foot of the Carpathian Mountains in ancient times, but also offer rafting full of adrenaline rush. Though in fact, not in the sea, but in a mountain river.
The hromada decided to develop tourism with an emphasis not only on the ecological component, ethnicity and preserved folk traditions, but also on modern types of entertainment and active recreation. Here you can try to conquer the mountain river on a raft boat.
Tourists are offered a complete set of specialised equipment, raft boats and experienced guides for a few hour high-speed rafting on the Cheremosh river. Thus, this is a completely new insight in the mountains, so to speak from the bottom and in the dynamics, for natural beauty fans and those in search for thrills – an interesting experience with the taste of adrenaline.

Within the framework of the seminar “State and local tools for the development of mountainous areas”, organised by the Ivano-Frankivsk LGDC with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme, project managers from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast’s AHs learnt how this and several other tourism projects work.
