Specialists of the Zhytomyr Oblast’s AHs were trained to use the intermunicipal cooperation mechanism to solve problems together with neighbouring hromadas. On 22 October, the Zhytomyr Local Government Development Centre, established by the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion, hosted a seminar “Cooperation of Hromadas: Examples of Cooperation and Unused Reserves” for the hromadas of the region.
Intermunicipal cooperation agreements allow solving problems by joint efforts of several hromadas. 14 such agreements have already been concluded in the Zhytomyr Oblast, and 11 of them were signed in the Olevsk Rayon.
It should be mentioned that according to MinRegion’s monthly monitoring, 1050 hromadas in Ukraine are currently using the mechanism of intermunicipal cooperation, having concluded 263 agreements.
