Ukrainians are often envious about the achievements of Poland and consider its way of development as a possible pattern to follow. Indeed, Poland is our neighbour historically sharing much in common with Ukraine. However, everyday life in Poland is significantly different compared to Ukraine nowadays: Poland enjoys a higher level of life, including salaries and the quality of public services. But these results are based on years of hard work and a long-term planning approach. Representatives of the partner AHs of the DESPRO project – employees of local self-government bodies and municipal companies from the Luhansk, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblasts – had the opportunity to see the results of this work and to absorb the Polish experience for their own development.
