The Poltava Oblast Council summed up the results of the annual oblast competition for hromadas’ development, that involves co-financing from the oblast budget and AH’s contribution (50/50).
According to the Poltava Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion, this year, the best projects have been again submitted by amalgamated hromadas. Their applications were innovative compared to the applications received from the RSA, rayon councils and non-amalgamated village councils.
The AHs- participants are trying to attract funds for the improvement and dispatching of street lighting system in starosta districts, solar power plant construction, improvement of safety and ecology in hromadas, development of tourism and increase of fire safety of forests.
“This year's AH projects demonstrate the level of strategic thinking of leaders of these hromadas. Originality and comprehensive vision distinguish the projects of amalgamated hromadas from the rest. It’s nice that both the AHs, established in 2015, and those that volunteered to amalgamate not more than a year ago are among the winners,” says Iryna Balybina, director of the Poltava LGDC.
